The objective of this document is to contribute to the revision of the ECVs/EOVs based on user needs for climate monitoring, adaptation and mitigation in the Mediterranean Sea as requested by the Ocean Observations Physics and Climate Panel (OOPC) panel. The edition of the specification sheet for each variable described in this document is based on those already provided by GCOS, as available in the document entitled ‘The 2022 GCOS ECVs Requirements’ (https://library.wmo.int/viewer/58111?medianame=GCOS-245_2022_GCOS_ECVs_Requirements_#page=1&viewer=picture&o=&n=0&q=) , which included a revision of the old GOOS EOV specification sheets, provided in this link (https://www.goosocean.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=14&Itemid=114)
